03/28/2017: Our ICME’17 paper “Power of Tempospatially Unified Spectral Density for Perceptual Video Quality Assessment,” by Mohammed Aabed, Gukyeong Kwon, and Ghassan AlRegib was selected (among top 3% papers) as a finalist in the 10K Best Paper Award Competition. 03/16/2017: Our postdoctoral researcher Dr. Dogancan(Can) Temel has been selected to receive the Sigma Xi Best Ph.D. Thesis Award. Sigma Xi is a national honor society of scientists and engineers with more than 80,000 inductees.
03/15/2017: The VIP Cup competition for 2017 has just started. 2017 IEEE VIP cup is organized and hosted by MSL and sponsored by the IEEE Signal Processing Society. Robust machine learning for autonomous vehicles!
02/24/2017: Dr. Ghassan AlRegib has won the 2017 Denning Faculty Award for Global Engagement. The award recognizes a Georgia Tech faculty member who has demonstrated a sustained outstanding achievement and commitment to the advancement of the Institute’s global engagement. He received the award for the number of initiatives that Dr. Ghassan AlRegib have successfully developed in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East over the last decade and his contribution on Georgia Tech’s reputation overseas. Congratulations!
02/7/2017: Our postdoctoral researcher Dr. Dogancan(Can) Temel and Dr. Ghassan AlRegib are the co-authors of one of the most downloaded articles from Signal Processing: Image Communication during the last 90 days. The work for this paper, “CSV: Image quality assessment based on color, structure, and visual system,” presents a full-reference image quality estimator based on color, structure, and visual system characteristics, denoted as CSV.
